Biblically Balanced

Last night my husband preached an amazing sermon at Iglesia Bautista de Anaheim! He based the sermon off of Exodus when Pharoah and Moses were talking and Moses was asking Pharoah for permission to go worship God.

In Exodus 8:25Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.”

In other words: Serve God, but don’t leave this place. Don’t change.

The application is:

Serve God, but don’t change your music.

Serve God, but don’t change your dress.

Serve God, but don’t change your tv or movies.

Serve God, but don’t stop drinking.

Serve God, but don’t stop hanging out with your friends.

In Exodus 8:28 it says “only ye shall not go very far away“.

The application is:

Serve God, but don’t be a fanatic.

Serve God, but don’t read the Bible every day.

Serve God, but don’t pray every day.

Serve God, but don’t go to church so much.

Serve God, but don’t be an extremist.

Serve God, but don’t take the Bible literally.

In Exodus 10:8-9 Pharoah says: “Go, serve the Lord your God: but who are they that shall go?

Moses answers that everyone is going!  All of their families!

The application is:

Serve God, but you should let your kids decide for themselves.

Serve God, but don’t force your kids to go.

Serve God, but don’t force your family.

Exodus 10:24 says: “And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.”

In other words…

Serve God, but don’t give your money.

Serve God, but don’t give your possessions.

Serve God, but don’t sacrifice too much.
