1. Buy them a notebook and pen.

2. Teach them the parts of the bible: the Old Testament, the New Testament; there are 66 books; each book has a chapter and each chapter has verses.

3. Teach them how to write bible verse references and how to look them up in the bible. Show them where the index is in the front and how they can find the page number of the books in the bible.

4. Teach them to listen and write down the main points when the Pastor says 1, 2, and 3. For ages 5-6 write down words on the notebook and have them write lines next to each word every time they hear it. For example, you write the word God and every time the Pastor says God they are going to write a little line next to the word God.

5. Reward them for good note taking. Reward them with money, ice cream, maybe- they can earn points to buy a book or toy they really want.

6. Learning how to take notes will help them in school. They will be years ahead of their other classmates in listening skills.

7. First, have your children copy your notes word for word. Of course you want to take less notes depending on their age but thats going to teach them good listening skills. Also its going to reinforce their writing skills and its going to help them be able to sit still in chuch.

Friday we arrived in San Joe, California at Iglesia Evangelica Bautista with Pastor Ernesto Gomez located at 397 E. Empire St in San Jose, Ca. 95112. Phone number 408-390-4170.

We came her for their Missions Conference- this is actually their very first Missions Conference that the church has had, even though the church is actually 70 years old, which is very exciting.

The Missions Conference started Friday night and lasts Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. The purpose of the Missions Conference is for the church members to make promises for next year of how much money they want to give toward the Mission to help support Missionaries on the Mission Field. Of course we are very excited and glad to be a part of their Mission Conference. there are actually about 6 or 7 other Missionaries here with us. We were able to see slide presentations and videos from the other Missionairies and see their displays. We met some Missionairies that that are going to Missionary the Jews in France. We met some other Missionairies that have actually been serving in Columbia for the last 9 years doing great work down there. We met some Missionairies from Mexico and cities of Mexico and of course here.

Friday night we heard two preachings from 2 different Missionairies. Saturday morning we heard some preachings from another Missionary and then we went soul running. It was real exciting to see, in our group of 4 people, that we were able to see 4 people saved. My husband was one and the person he went out with and the person i went out with. We were all able to see someone saved, that was very exciting. It seems as if the people are very receptive, in San Jose, to the gospel.

Saturday night my husband was able to preach and then another Pastor preached. We saw Pastor Luis Ramos here from San Mateo, California. He's good friends of ours. He pastors near the Bay Area- that was very lucky to be able to see them again. They are very supportive, we're going to go see them in the next few weeks as well.

Sunday morning we had some nice preaching, some really good preaching by Noe Ochoa, he is a Pastor from Las Somoras, Camalitas, a state in Mexico. The people were very charming. After that we had some good, authentic Mexican tacos for lunch, right there on the grounds that the ladies of the church prepared for us. All that was very exciting and tonight we are waiting to see what the people are going to be promising to give so that more Missionaries can go to the Mission Field and more people can hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

If you are looking for some Missionaries to support - I can highly recommend the Murillo family. (...)

If you are looking for some Missionaries to support - I can highly recommend the Murillo family. They have a church, they have been pastoring for 9 years in Bogata, Columbia. The address for those located in Columbia is Carretera 13 # 13-37, Bosa La Vestensa. The name of their church is Iglesia Bautista Fundamental, of course they are in Bogata, Columbia. Their phone number, there locally- 759-0718. If you'd like to reach them to schedule a meeting- you can also call the Igelsia Bautista Fundamental de Guadalajara and they can be reached at 011-52-33-825-1873. Their pastor is Pastor Augustine Rosales. They can also be reached from the United States at 951-676-9306. Their names are Gregorio Murillo, Adriana Murillo and their children are David, Ruth and Rebecca. And they have been doing great work, they have built a church down there in Bogata and I think its really exciting that they are Mexican Missionaries sent out from Mexico, going to a country where the Mexicans are much more well received than Americans.

Alot of American Missionaries that go down to Columbia, they have to struggle with learning the the language, they have to struggle with cultural differences and there is also a lot of political problems between the United States. They also have to worry about having their children kidnapped but because these people are from Mexico- Mexicans going down to Columbia, they don't have to learn the language, they don't have to worry about their children being kidnapped and they are able to mingle. They are more accepted into the culture in Columbia alot more easily and its an exciting opportunity for some American Churches that would like to support the Missionaries in Columbia.

Another family that I can recommend is the Familia Sobredilla, they are Missionaries to France, actually. They are also sent out from a church in Mexico and with Pastor Luis Ramos. They are a very nice family and if you are looking for some Missionaries to support, that would also be an option.

It's exciting to see Mexican Missionaries going to other countries now as Missionaries starting churches and starting work.

If you would like to be apart of that think about contacting these families. To reach the Sobredilla family you can call 001-52-444-841-5387- that's the phone number to the church in San Luis Poposi, the Pastor does speak English as does his wife. So you can get hold of him and they will direct you on how to contact the Sobredilla family if you'd like to have them in your church. They are getting ready to go to France as Missionaries.

Hi, this is Nicole, editor of Baptistmom.com. (...)

Hi, this is Nicole, editor of Baptistmom.com. For the last seven years our family has been serving in Puebla, Mexico as Independent Fundamental Baptist Missionaries, for the next three months we have decided to take a small furlough in the United States visiting different churches, in different cities mostly in California and also in North Carolina and Tennessee areas.

What is a furlough? Furlough is a time for the Missionaries to take a break from the Mission Field and go back to the United States to visit their friends and their families. To visit churches that have been supporting them and also to try to visit new churches to raise some new support. so we are going to be taking a short furlough of 3 months.

We left on March 23, we drove from Puebla, Mexico to the border of Brownsville, Texas. Then we went from Brownsville to San Antonio; from San Antonio to El Paso; from El Paso to Albuquerque; Albuquerque to Phoenix and a week ago Monday we arrived in Oceanside, CA area. We will be staying in California for about a month visiting churches in our local area as well as taking short trips. Next week we should be going to the San Francisco area.

Today we were able to go visit two churches in the Los Angeles area. The first church we visited this morning was a church in Duarte, CA. It was called the Berean Bible Baptist Church. It is located at 2302 S. Mountain Ave, Duarte, CA 91010. The pastor at the church is named Pastor Richard A. Stokes. We left our house this morning at 7:30am and arrived in the L.A. area at around 9:15a. At 9:15a we stopped and pulled over while my husband called the church in Puebla and was able to speak to them during their morning church service and say hi to everybody . Then we arrived at the church at 9:20a and my husband was able to preach during their English service and then he was able to preach at Spanish service as well. We had a very good time, everyone was very friendly. Afterward we had a very nice Mexican brunch there on the grounds, they have a nice banquet area for everybody.

Then in the evening we went to a different church in Highland Park in the L.A. area. It was also a very friendly church and we were excited to be able to be there,
